Hugo's is an authentic Mexican fine dining restaurant, one of only two in the United States. You won't find fajitas, chips and salsa, or frozen margaritas here. You will find regional Mexican specialties that pair amazingly with the fantastic wine list. Chef owner Hugo Ortega serves up regional specialties from his home country.
Authentic Mexican Food
The circa 1930 building has been beautifully restored and retains the period metal ceilings and fixtures. The lofty space inspires openness, and the rustic finish complements the food and wines Hugo's serves.
1150 Wines at Hugo's in Houston, Texas
Hugo's sommelier, Sean Beck, has assembled a wonderful portfolio of hard-to-find and limited production wines including boutique and limited production wines like the 1150 (Eleven-Fifty) from Bodega Ikal. The high-altitude 1150 Chardonnay marries tropical fruit with crisp acidity that pair amazingly well with Chef Hugo's assortment of Ceviches.

About Hugo's
Deep red color with intense aromas of dark fruit, spices and minerals meld with oaky vanilla. An elegant, richly concentrated wine with complexity and structure.
Intense inky color with violet hues. Plum, ripe cherry, and floral on the nose with dry fruit and mint hints. Great concentration and complexity with sweet, voluminous tannins and a lasting finish.
Deep golden color with enveloping aromas of tropical fruit, citrus hints, and minerals. A nice balance of vanilla and toast inspire complexity and elegance. Initially sweet and concentrated in the mouth with balance and complexity that flows into a fresh and lasting finish.
