13 Celsius is one of Houston's top rated wine bars, carrying exclusively limited production and hard to find gems, including 1150 from Bodega Ikal. Located in the upcoming Midtown area of Houston, the small venue in a circa 1927 building offers a unique ambiance that inspires old world wine bars (think of the now hip East Berlin).
The wine list is organized by palette, from light to big wines. Each member of the staff is knowledgeable and familiar with each of 13's offerings.
1150 Wines at 13 Celsius
The Ikal 1150 Cabernet Sauvignon is made in the old-world style with lots of minerality, fig, and dark fruit on the nose. This high-altitude Cab is less tannic in the mid-palette than many California styles making it excellent to enjoy by itself or with the cheese plates or panini.
Bodega Ikal, a vineyard created by fellow Houstonians, produces only 300 cases of the Cabernet Sauvignon each year.
Getting There
13 Celsius is located in Midtown, a district southwest of Downtown Houston, bordered by Neartown and U.S. Highway 59. From downtown, head south on Caroline street and turn right at Anita. From south of town, head north on San Jacinto and turn right on Anita.

Deep red color with intense aromas of dark fruit, spices and minerals meld with oaky vanilla. An elegant, richly concentrated wine with complexity and structure.
Intense inky color with violet hues. Plum, ripe cherry, and floral on the nose with dry fruit and mint hints. Great concentration and complexity with sweet, voluminous tannins and a lasting finish.
Deep golden color with enveloping aromas of tropical fruit, citrus hints, and minerals. A nice balance of vanilla and toast inspire complexity and elegance. Initially sweet and concentrated in the mouth with balance and complexity that flows into a fresh and lasting finish.
